Little Musicians

Aimed at preschool and after schoolers this pre-instrumental programme introduces children to the world of music through action songs, percussion instruments and musical games.

Through listening and responding to music; learning about the instruments of the orchestra, the conductor and the composer; and performing on a weekly basis, each child develops a love of music and develops a set of transferable musical skills. At the end of this programme children will be in a position to start instrumental tuition.

These classes aim to:
  • introduce children to the world of music through games and activities
  • develop a set of transferable musical skills in every child that can be utilised when they progress onto learning a musical instrument
  • create a life-long love and appreciation for music

Music Workshops for Kids Camps

We are regularly booked to deliver once-off music workshops and we are a regular feature on the schedule of many Halloween, mid-term, Easter or Summer camps that take place. The workshops we have to offer are outlined below:

Our Kids Camps workshops are great because:
  • they are lots of fun
  • they are interactive and educational
  • they immerse every child into the world of music
  • they give every child an equal opportunity to participate

Let’s Drum

Through games, activities and performing, our drumming workshops allow students to explore the percussion family, develop their understanding of rhythm and improve their rhythmical ability, whilst students perform as part of a drumming ensemble. Our Transition Year drumming workshops incorporate station learning and ensure that each student gets an opportunity to perform on a range of instruments. Each Let’s Drum workshop culminates in an end-of-workshop performance that combines the different rhythms and material covered during the session.

This Workshop Aims to:
  • give students an opportunity to learn about and perform on a range of drums and percussion instruments
  • develop each student’s ability to listen, follow instruction and work as a part of team
  • give students the opportunity to learn about and perform a range of rhythms from around the world that culminates in an end of workshop performance

Let’s Sing

One of our most popular music workshops, ‘Let’s Sing’ is an excellent way of encouraging and improving each child’s singing abilities. Our singing workshops explore the voice through games and activities, investigate the importance of breathing and posture and develop each pupil’s aural awareness. A song is covered as part of the workshop content and each session culminates in the performance of the song learnt.

This Workshop Aims to:
  • to explore the sounds of the voice and professional singing technique
  • to learn about vocal tone, pitch, dynamics and rhythm
  • to give every child the opportunity to perform in an ensemble that culminates in bringing all of the material covered and skills developed together

Let’s Perform

Through integrating music with drama and movement our musical theatre workshop give children a taste of the exciting world of musical theatre. Although all our workshops are highly interactive and energetic, each section is conducted in a calm, fun and non-pressurized environment. Let’s Perform culminates in an end of session performance.

This Workshop Aims to:
  • develop self-expression and self-confidence through music, drama and movement
  • to give students the opportunity to learn about vocal tone, pitch, posture, dynamics and rhythm
  • to give every child the opportunity to perform in a group performance that culminates in bringing all of the material covered and skills developed together

Let’s Explore

Let’s Explore introduces every child to the world of music through exploring the role of the conductor; investigating the importance of percussion; learning about dynamics, tempo, mood, the beat and rhythm; singing songs, composing rhythms and learning about music from different parts of the world. These workshops are great for children aged between 4 and 8 years of age.

This Workshop Aims to:
  • to give every child a solid and practical introduction to the world of music
  • increase the level of interest and engagement of music amongst children
  • ensure that children learn through play and activity based learning
