ONE OFF MUSIC WORKSHOPS FOR CAMPS

Let’s Drum

An interactive hands on drumming workshop that introduces children to a range of percussion instruments from different parts of the world. The workshops cover rhythms and patterns that are commonly heard in African and samba drumming or modern music. During a workshop every child gets the opportunity to perform on a range of different instruments, with each workshop culminating in an end of workshop performance of the material covered

Each Workshop Aims to:
  • give students an opportunity to learn about and perform on a range of drums and percussion instruments
  • develop each student’s ability to listen, follow instruction and work as a part of team
  • give students the opportunity to learn about and perform a range of rhythms from around the world that culminates in an end of workshop performance

Let's Sing

One of our most popular music workshops, ‘Let’s Sing’ is an excellent way of encouraging and improving each child’s singing abilities. Our singing workshops explore the voice through games and activities, investigate the importance of breathing and posture and develop each pupil’s aural awareness. A song is covered as part of the workshop content and each session culminates in the performance of the song learnt.

Each Workshop Aims to:
  • explore the sounds of the voice and professional singing technique
  • develop each student’s ability to listen, follow instruction and work as a part of team
  • give every child an opportunity to perform in an end of workshop performance that combines the material covered and skills developed together

Let's Perform

Through integrating music with drama and movement our musical theatre workshop give children a taste of the exciting world of musical theatre. Although all our workshops are highly interactive and energetic, each section is conducted in a calm, fun and non-pressurised environment. Let’s Perform culminates in an end of session performance.

Each Workshop Aims to:
  • develop self-expression and self-confidence through music, drama and movement
  • develop each student’s ability to listen, follow instruction and work as a part of team
  • give every child the opportunity to perform in a group performance that culminates in bringing all of the material covered and skills developed together

Let's Explore

Our Let’s Explore workshops immerse children into the world of music. These workshops include musical games, listening activities, rhythm, percussion instruments, action songs, composition and song singing. Depending on the tutor who comes to your school they may choose to lean to into some aspects a little more than others, but overall there is a good balance in the content.

Each Workshop Aims to:
  • give every child a solid and practical introduction to the world of music
  • increase the level of interest and engagement of music amongst children
  • develop each child’s awareness of music
