The workshops cover rhythms and patterns that are commonly heard in African and samba drumming or modern music. During a workshop every child gets the opportunity to perform on a range of different instruments, with each workshop culminating in an end of workshop performance of the material covered
Each Workshop Aims to:
- Give students an opportunity to learn about and perform on a range of drums and percussion instruments.
- Develop each student’s ability to listen, follow instructions and work as a part of team.
- Give students the opportunity to learn about and perform a range of rhythms from around the world that culminate in an end-of-workshop performance.
Learn & Explore
Our Learn & Explore workshops immerse children into the world of music. These workshops include musical games, listening activities, rhythm, percussion instruments, action songs, composition and song singing. Depending on the tutor who comes to your school they may choose to lean into some aspects a little more than others, but overall there is a good balance in the content.
Each Workshop Aims to:
- Give every child a solid and practical introduction to the world of music
- Increase the level of interest and engagement in music among children
- Develop each child’s awareness of music
