One-Off Music Workshops for Primary Schools

INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL & FUN MUSIC WORKSHOPS

Our one-day workshops give every child an immersion into the world of music in an interactive, educational and fun way. Each child will learn without realising that they are learning. All of our programmes are delivered by experienced, qualified tutors who understand the needs of the school and the students. We understand the importance of using the correct language and frameworks, including WALT and WILF, to make the most significant impact. All programmes also use differentiation to engage and challenge all children in your class while improving their musical skills.

Let’s Drum

This workshop is perfect for helping children explore the excitement of percussion while developing their timing, rhythm and general awareness of the world of music while allowing them to play a range of drums and percussion instruments. These workshops cover rhythms and patterns commonly heard in African and Samba drumming or modern music. During a workshop, every child gets the opportunity to perform on a range of different instruments, with each workshop culminating in an end-of-workshop performance.

Aims:
  • Provide the opportunity to learn about and perform on various drums and percussion instruments.
  • Give children the opportunity to learn about the importance of the beat.
  • Give children the opportunity to learn about and perform a range of rhythms suitable for their class group, culminating in a group performance.

Learn & Explore

Your children can start their musical journey by exploring rhythm, singing, musical games, music-making activities, and more.
Based on the three core strands of the primary school music curriculum, Learn & Explore workshops develop a set of transferable musical skills in every child that they can utilise when they begin to learn a musical instrument.

Aims:
  • Introduce children to the world of music.
  • Give children the opportunity to play various types of instruments.
  • Cover the three core strands of the music curriculum in a way that is fun and engaging for your students.

The workshop was excellent today, that was the feedback from all the teachers and pupils. She’s a great teacher. I would hope we might be able to fund another similar workshop in the next term.

Tagann Shay ó Mobile Music School amach chugainn de ghnáth i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge. Déanann sé ceardlann le gach rang sa scoil , ó Naíonáin go Rang 6. Tá Shay iontach leis na páistí, tá smacht iontach aige ar ranganna agus baineann na páistí taitneamh as a rang gach bliain. Déanann sé thart ar 20 noiméad le naíonain agus 30 – 40 noiméad le rang 1 – rang 6. Tá sé iontach go bhfuil se déanta trí Ghaeilge do na páistí. Beidh muid ag súil go mór le thú a fheiceáil an bhliain seo chugainn Shay. Míle buíochas!

As part of Music Week in our school recently, we had the Mobile Music School out to do a day’s workshop. It was such a fantastic experience for the children involved. Katie, the music tutor, engaged with the children from the moment the workshop began. There were vocal and warm up exercises, followed by singing, dancing and movement practices, so that by the end of a 45 minute session the children could fully perform a routine. The children were thrilled with themselves! I would not hesitate to recommend Mobile Music School to any school. We will certainly be using them again.
