This term, we had an amazing time delivering music programmes and educational workshops for schools nationwide! We were extremely busy, and our brilliant tutors were on the go non-stop! Check out some of our highlights of Term 2 below!

Workshops for Schools: Term 2 Highlights

Seachtain na Gaeilge:

This term, we delivered our annual Seachtain na Gaeilge workshops for schools, from 1st-16th March. We delivered both our Let’s Drum and Let’s Explore workshops, either as Gaeilge or incorporating some Irish language. We also developed our Irish Trad Sessions- more info on these sessions below!

‘Irish Trad Sessions’ Workshops:

Our ‘Trad Sessions’ workshops are a development of the Irish Trad music workshops we did last year! This year, the focus for these workshops was on a range of different Irish instruments, with two musicians bringing in a variety of different traditional Irish instruments. During these sessions, our musicians played for the children across a range of traditional Irish instruments. These instruments included the guitar, banjo, whistles, flute, concertina and more! The repertoire included a mix of songs and pieces of music that introduced the children to Irish traditional music. These renditions also gave the children the opportunity to clap, sing and move along. Further, as part of the content the children from 1st class up learnt the song Oró Sé Do Bheatha Baile.

Schools visited:

We had an extremely busy term, and as a result, we worked in 54 schools, across 15 counties. We also delivered 24 short programmes, and 37 workshop days. Further, we also did 7 workshops and live music performances in libraries and other venues! We were delighted to be kept so busy, and we’re extremely grateful to every school who worked with us over the term!

Teacher Training Workshops

This term, we delivered our teacher training workshops in schools nationwide, from Dublin, to Waterford, to Carrick on Shannon! Our teacher training workshops aim to equip teachers for teaching music in the classroom, and we’re delighted to be able to share our expertise with school teachers nationwide!
