With Term Two of 24/25 coming to a close, we wanted to recap all the amazing music for schools programmes and workshops we delivered! We had a blast delivering music for schools nationwide throughout the term, and we are extremely grateful to each and every school that we delivered our workshops and programmes in. Further, we’re extremely grateful to all of our amazing tutors, who worked so hard this term. We had a really busy term, full of great moments! Considering this, read on below for our highlights of the term!

Music for Schools: Our Term 2 Highlights

Schools visited:

We had a bumper term, and as a result, we worked in 53 schools, across 10 counties. We also delivered 30 workshop days. Further, we also delivered workshops and live music performances workshops across 11 libraries and events! We were delighted to be kept so busy, and we’re extremely grateful to everyone who worked with us over the term!

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Language Week) is an international Irish language festival and one of the biggest international celebrations of our native language and culture. The festival runs from 1 – 17 March every year. Schools nationwide spend this period learning about the Irish language, music and culture. Each year, Seachtain na Gaeilge proves to be our busiest time of year!

This year for Seachtain na Gaeilge, we offered our Let’s Explore workshops,Let’s Drum or Trad Sessions workshops for schools, either as Gaeilge, or incorporating Gaeilge, depending on the school’s preference.  Our team is  so lucky to have facilitators who speak fluent Irish. As a result, we were able to offer “craic agus ceol” workshops for schools for Seachtain na Gaeilge! We had a blast, and are already looking forward to Seachtain na Gaeilge next year!

Schoolyard Band Project

We were delighted to work in conjunction with the Civic Theatre in Tallaght to put on our Schoolyard Band Project. We took a full brass band into local primary schools in Tallaght, and put on school performances for them. These concerts were a huge success, and it was great to see the children enjoying live music!

Lucan ETNS End of Year Concert

Last week, the children of Lucan ETNS has their last violin lesson of the year with us. To celebrate, they put on a school concert, where the children played all the songs they learnt throughout the year on the violins. The concert went swimmingly, and the children had a ball!

Feedback

We received lots of kind feedback this term- we’ve selected a few testimonials to share below:

Just a note to say how happy we were with Paula yesterday. All the children, and the teachers,  really enjoyed the sessions, and gave it the thumbs up.” – Ladyswell NS

“Taylor will definitely be missed, I have received so much positive feedback from both class teachers and pupils on Taylor’s delivery of the music lessons. ” -Scoil Phadraig Naofa

Just a (very late sorry!) note to say this was top class. Paul was just brilliant, each session was a wee bit different to accommodate needs of kids and all the kids (and teachers) loved the workshop.” -Powerstown NS
