Here at the Mobile Music School, our ‘Music in the Classroom’ programmes are designed to provide fun-filled, interactive, curriculum-based music for primary schools in Ireland.
St Michael’s 3rd class are working hard and progressing well in their weekly violin lesson with Rebecca. There are two 3rd class groups this year so we have a lot of violin players.
The boys started out plucking and are now starting to get used to using the bow. They are reading music from the whiteboard and playing along with backing tracks which really adds to the performance.
We have two boys taking part in after-school violin lessons. They are really enthusiastic about the violin and also play piano outside of school. They have been playing Twinkle Twinkle, Hot Cross Buns and have taken on the task of learning Frere Jacques over the midterm break!
The boys are hoping to add to the Halloween atmosphere at home by playing some scary sound effects on the violin when Trick or Treaters arrive to their door on Halloween night. The Jaws Theme tune and some very scary screeching sounds were heard at their final lesson this week!
