The wonderful students of St. Michael’s NS have been making great progress in their ‘Violin in the Classroom’ programme, with the help of Mobile Music tutor Rebecca.

St Michael’s have decided to take part in the Royal Irish Academy of Music Cara Awards. Cara, meaning ‘friend’ as Gaeilge, gives students the opportunity to play for a RIAM examiner, along with three of their friends. Each student must play a group piece and a solo piece.

The boys are so excited about taking part and playing for the Award, which will take place in May. In preparation for the big event, the students will get the chance to borrow the school violins to facilitate their practice at home during the week.

The boys have worked consistently hard throughout the year, improving their violin and bowing skills week-on-week. We have no doubt that they will do themselves, and their school, proud by giving their best performance at the Cara Awards. Best of luck boys!
