Mobile Music tutor, Haleigh, is back with the wonderful students of Scoil Phádraic Cailíní, Donabate, teaching After School Guitar and Glee Club. These guitar classes really thrived in the run up to Christmas and we’re delighted to be back again!

The students have settled back nicely into school and have become comfortable with the routine of tuning guitars quickly and efficiently at the beginning of class. Eager to commence each lesson, students have recently started arriving to class with their guitars tuned all ready to go.

The past few classes has seen the groups improve greatly on E, A and D chords and they are now currently focusing on the chords G and C. With each lesson, Haleigh aims to improve each pupil’s technical and musical ability in a fun and calm environment.

The class enjoy playing as groups alongside Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift music, and have also began writing their own chordal patterns for songs. Through a series of technical exercises, play along backing tracks, songs and pieces of music, we see each student’s self-esteem and ability to perform as part of a group significantly enhancing. We’ve even heard of our guitar students playing Happy Birthday for their relatives at a family birthday party!

In the Glee Club students have gotten great confidence singing and are now using backing tracks without words to sing alongside. The class are now concentrating on dynamics with a Disney theme.
