Our ‘Music in the Classroom’ programmes in Gaelscoil Dún Aonghusa and Gaelscoil Inse Chór enables schools to offer students a weekly fiddle lesson overseen by a professional, qualified fiddle teacher.
Since commencing music lessons last year, pupils have been immediately immersed into the music-making process and work in a group environment that radically develops their musical awareness, self-esteem and confidence as musicians and creative thinkers.
Our 5th and 6th class students in Gaelscoil Dún Aonghusa have started to learn a lot of tunes by ear and are developing a lot as musicians as a result. The other students in third and fourth class have learned their first traditional tune on the fiddle and are looking forward to adding to this in the new year.
Throughout the course of their music education programme, our junior and senior infant students in Gaelscoil Inse Chór have added greatly to their understanding of rhythm and tempo. The senior infants class have also been learning about traditional Irish music.
Here at the Mobile Music School, we love any opportunity to fuse our passion for both music and Irish together. If you would like to book a music workshop or programme for your Gaelscoil, please get in contact us to discuss what we can do for you and your school.
