Music for Schools
Our music for schools programmes keep us extremely busy throughout the year! Unfortunately, in this current climate, we’ve all had to adapt to big changes over the last few months! This means that our music lessons for primary schools have unfortunately been interrupted due to these changes. With primary, secondary and music schools closed, music lessons for primary schools nationwide unfortunately came to a halt. However, the good news is, we’ve been planning our music lessons and programmes for next year, and are really looking forward to coming back with a bang! Today, we’re going to be explaining our Let’s Sing classroom programme- what it is, what it involves, and why you might be interested! Read on to learn more.
Let’s Sing- What does it involve?
These educational workshops and programmes for schools combine singing, technique and movement. Further, they culminate in a class act, where the class perform what they have learnt. In these workshops, students learn about posture, breathing, vocal technique and projection. Students also learn how to express themselves through music.
Fun-based games and activities
Each Let’s Sing programme incorporates plenty of with fun-filled ice breaker activities and warm-ups. Further, the students then move on to posture, techniques and breathing. Students are shown how each of these is performed properly. The children then incorporate these skills learnt during the warm up into the rest of the vocal exercises and activities, which include singing in rounds, games, vowel work and warm up songs.
Performance
Throughout each music session, the group will learn all about presence on stage, breathing and posture whilst singing, and voice projection. Each session then culminates in an energetic end-of-session performance. Each class learns a different song, from The Beatles to Bruno Mars. Working as a team, the students performed each week, incorporating all the skills they learnt throughout the class that day.
