Developed from our one-day secondary school workshops, our short music programmes take place over a 4-week block and give students the opportunity to be immersed into the world of music

Let’s Drum

This percussion course explores the role of percussion in all types of music. Classes investigate the importance of ‘the beat’; develops each pupil’s rhythmical abilities; teaches students how to read and create music notation; and introduce students to multiple different ways of learning rhythms including subdivision. During the duration of the programme students are given regular performance opportunities.

Programme Aims Include:
  • immersing students into the world of music through drums and percussion
  • teaching students how to read and follow music notation
  • giving students the opportunity to work and perform as part of a musical ensemble

Let's Sing

Our singing programme enables students to discover their voice and explore the importance of posture, breathing and vocal technique. During each singing class, students learn a wide repertoire of songs, develop their aural awareness and explore other elements of music including the beat and rhythm
Classes also focus on pitch, tonic sol-fa and music notation Let’s Sing culminates in an end of programme performance of the songs covered, which can coincide with a school concert or graduation ceremony.

Programme Aims Include:
  • immersing students into the world of music through singing
  • exploring the sounds of the voice and professional singing technique
  • giving every student the opportunity to work and perform as part of a music ensemble

Mini Musical

These high-energy, interactive classes give students the opportunity to explore the world of musical theatre by integrating music, drama and movement.

During this programme students learn a section of a well-known musical. Past musicals we have used include The Greatest Showman, Matilda & Back to the 80s. Upon completion of the course the students perform the section of the musical learnt hence the title “Mini Musical”.

Programme Aims Include:
  • immersing students into the world of musical theatre
  • developing self-expression and self-confidence through music, drama and movement
  • learning and performing a section from a well-known musical

The Mobile Music School has been offering music lessons in our school since 2011. Since this time the Mobile Music School have proven to offer professional and well organised lessons, which have been enjoyed by many of our pupils as an extra curricular activity.
