The Mobile Music School offers a range of energetic, interactive and fun-filled Transition Year workshops.
Since 2011, the Mobile Music School has been delivering Drumming, Singing and Musical Theatre workshops in secondary schools all over Ireland. To date, we have worked extensively with Transition Year class groups for initiatives such as arts, culture or friendship week.
Our structured workshops have a strong musical element, whilst simultaneously acting as team building and confidence development workshops. Our music workshops are delivered by fun, professional, experienced, Garda vetted tutors.
We also offer our range of Transition Year workshops as Gaeilge. To visit the Gaeilge version of our website, please click here.

Our ‘Let’s Drum’ drumming workshops for Transition Year students are active, hands on sessions that enable students to explore the sounds of the percussion family. Whilst developing their rhythmical ability, students also work in small teams to create rhythms of their own. Throughout the course of the music workshop, they then integrate the activities and rhythms covered to create and perform as part of a drumming ensemble.
These highly energetic sessions are thoroughly enjoyable, and have proven to be a big hit with Transition Year students. If your school is looking for a fun way to encourage team work and develop interaction within class groups, then ‘Let’s Drum’ is for you!

These creative singing workshops for Transition Year students explore the voice through set activities. Our qualified singing tutors cover breathing, pitch, diction, harmony, voice control and projection. As the the students progress, they will then from a vocal group and learn a song.
These Transition Year workshops are hugely educational to every student, regardless of their singing ability. Students are encouraged to project their voice correctly and speak within a range that is comfortable to them – an important life skill for public speaking and debating.
Each ‘Let’s Sing’ session culminates in a live end-of-session performance of the set song learned during the singing workshop.

A Musical Slice
These musical theatre sessions commence with team building ‘ice-breaker’ activities, basic vocal warm-ups and improvisation activities. Once the group are warmed-up, they then progress to learning a section from a well-known musical.
Each student is given a role with a specific responsibility in the creation of the musical slice. This music workshop is a great way of instilling personal confidence and self esteem in Transition Year students.
These music theatre workshops culminate in an end-of-session performance of the ‘musical slice’. Although all of our Transition Year workshops are highly interactive and energetic, each session is conducted in a calm, fun and non-pressurized environment.
