The Mobile Music School run a range of after-school music workshops for primary schools. We offer one-to-one music tuition, or the option of group instrumental programmes for groups of up to ten students. Our one-to-one lessons are 30 minutes long and group sessions last 50 minutes. We also take on the entire administrative load, timetabling and collection of fees to enable schools to offer high quality music tuition as an extra-curricular activity. The after-school music classes offer are outlined below.

We also offer our range of after-school music tuition as Gaeilge. To visit the Gaeilge version of our website, please click here.

Little Musicians

This pre-instrumental class is aimed at four to seven year old children. Through action songs, percussion instruments, musical games and learning about music from all corners of the world, our classes immerse children into the wonderful world of music from a young age.

Children participate in group-based activities that aim to improve each child’s musical awareness. Through listening and responding to music, learning about the instruments of the orchestra, the job of the conductor, becoming a composer and performing on a weekly basis, each child develops a love of music and a range of transferable musical skills.

Upon completion of this programme, students will have a firm musical foundation and will be in a position to commence instrumental tuition.

Glee Club

Glee Club is a group-based singing class that includes some basic movement.

Through a set of structured, yet fun activities and exercises, each student develops their sense of pitch, ability to sing in harmony, vocal range, ability to breathe effectively whilst singing and how to project their voice effectively.

These classes are a hugely popular and enjoyable after-school class as they appeal to a wide variety of pupils. Our course gives students the opportunity to sing many of their favourite songs and introduces them to many timeless classics!

Group Instrumental Programmes

Group tuition is available on Guitar or Violin. Each class aims to improve each pupil’s technical and musical ability on their chosen instrument in a fun and calm environment.

Through a series of technical exercises, play along backing tracks, songs and pieces of music, each student’s confidence and ability to perform as part of a musical group significantly increases.

Aimed at beginners and improvers, these classes are an ideal way to start instrumental tuition. Typically each weekly 50-minute class contains a maximum of eight students.
