The Mobile Music School regularly delivers workshops to Transition Year students throughout the country. These once-off sessions are suitable for all students. Our workshops can help to reinforce some of the concepts from the music curriculum with pupils taking music as an academic subject, as well as encouraging those who don’t play music to take an active part in music making.
The workshops we have on offer include ‘Let’s Drum’, ‘Let’s Sing’ and ‘A Musical Slice’; with each stand-alone session lasting 80-minutes. Regardless of the workshop chosen, each session culminates in an end of session ‘performance piece’, which will consist of the material worked on during class.
Once the workshops are completed, each school is then presented with a certificate of completion for each pupil. These certificates are presented to the students at the end of year Transition Year Graduation/ Ceremony.
Further to our musical abilities, we also offer music workshops as Gaeilge that aim to integrate music and Gaeilge whilst encouraging pupils to engage with and learn Gaeilge in an informal, fun and enjoyable way.
