Since returning after the Christmas break, the Mobile Music School have had the pleasure of working with every class in Gaelscoil an Bhradáin Feasa from junior infants right up to sixth class.
We had been teaching third to sixth class since September and finished up with the senior groups in mid-January. It was so pleasing to see how much each child had developed as a performer and a composer, and how their general ability to listen and respond to music has greatly increased as well.
Whilst working with these class groups we recorded some video footage for an upcoming TG4 series and worked on the song Cheerleader as part of the same TG4 series.
Sixth class finished up by combing percussion with Adele’s hit “Hello”. The children (and teachers) thoroughly enjoyed this activity and found it to be a nice way to finish up our time with sixth class as they will be moving on to secondary school shortly.
Check out the video we copied here:
Since finishing up with the third to sixth class groups, we began to teach junior infants to second class. So far we are having lots of fun learning about the beat, music notation, the instruments from the percussion family and music making!
