In this week’s how-to video for teaching music education in primary schools, we’re taking a look at three examples of practicing tonic solfa. These hand signs are great for helping students to understand tonic solfa.

 

Music Education in Primary Schools

Example 1

  • Practice singing ‘do’
  • The hand sign for do is a fist

Example 2

  1. Practice singing ‘me’
  2. The hand sign for ‘me’ is a flat horizontal hand

Example 3

  • Practice singing ‘so’
  • The hand sign for ‘so’ is a palm facing towards you
